C# Web Services Training Overview

Accelebrate's Building Web Services with C# teaches you how to build a solid foundation for the development of Web Services using C# and gain an understanding of how commonly used protocols can impact your development effort. You will learn how to create and consume ASP.NET Web Services, work with XML serialization, and understand discovery and UDDI. You will also learn how current and evolving standards, such as Web Service Enhancements (WSE) 3.0 and Message Transmission Optimization Mechanism (MTOM), can be integrated in Web Service development. Discover how to secure your Web Services using different technologies like X.509 certificates and Kerberos. Learn how to increase reliability of your XML messages by locating bottlenecks and invoking delivery verification.

C# Web Services Training Prerequisites

Building ASP.NET Applications with Visual C# and Visual Studio .NET, Building Windows Applications with C# and Visual Studio .NET, or equivalent experience.

Hands-on/Lecture Ratio

This ASP.NET training class is 70% hands-on, 30% lecture, with the longest lecture segments lasting for 15-20 minutes.

C# Web Services Training Materials

All students receive a copy of Apress' Beginning ASP.NET 2.0 Web Services in C#: From Novice to Professional, which is used as the instructional guide for the course.

Software Needed on Each Student PC

  • Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows Server 2003
  • Optional: Internet Information Server 5, 6, 7, or later (enable prior to loading SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005)
  • Visual Studio 2005 (or 2008) (with SQL Server Express enabled)
  • If instruction on .NET Framework 3.0 or 3.5 is desired, please install the .NET Framework 3.0 or 3.5 SDK
  • A minimum of 1GB RAM
