LINQ Training Overview

Accelebrate's LINQ Training: Introduction to Language Integration Query (LINQ) using C# 2010 training class teaches attendees to easily create complex data-independent queries. In addition, students learn about the language features for Visual C# in Visual Studio 2010 in order to make LINQ possible.

LINQ Training Prerequisites

All attendees should have prior experience developing applications in .NET 2.0 or later using C# or Visual Basic and some familiarity with the use of interfaces and generics.

Hands-on/Lecture Ratio

This LINQ training class is 70% hands-on, 30% lecture, with the longest lecture segments lasting for 20 minutes.

All LINQ training students receive a hands-on lab manual and a related textbook.

Software Needed on Each Student PC

Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8 with at least 3GB RAM
Visual Studio 2010 SP1 or later
SQL Server 2008 Express or later

LINQ Training Objectives

Create new XML content using LINQ to XML.
Iterate through collections of objects, using a single LINQ query.
Use anonymous types, lambda expressions, extension methods, object initializers, and implicit type declaration.
Query arrays, lists, dictionaries, and more using LINQ to Objects.
Use the extension methods provided by the System.Linq.Enumerable class to extend the behavior of collection classes.
Create an object model based on a SQL Server database and then query the database using LINQ to SQL.
Modify data and use stored procedures with LINQ to SQL.
Create XML content using classes in the System.Xml.Linq namespace.
Validate, query and transform XML content using LINQ to XML.
Transform XML content using LINQ to XML.
Create an Entity Data Model based on a data source and then query the data using LINQ to Entities.
