Microsoft PowerPivot is an add-on for Excel 2010 (and integrated feature of some editions of Excel 2013) that expands PivotTable’s cross-tabulation and data summarization capabilities. PowerPivot facilitates importing data from multiple sources, performing more sophisticated calculations, and publishing Excel workbooks as web applications. Microsoft PowerPivot is used to load large data sets from databases, data feeds, Reporting Services, and text files, as well as perform powerful data analysis, and quickly transform large amounts of data into relevant information. DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) formulas provide powerful computational functions while using functions that are familiar to Excel users.
Accelebrate's PowerPivot classes teach attendees how to create charts and use PivotTables and PowerPivot to prepare data summaries and cross-tabulations that span multiple sources. Students also learn to use analytical capabilities, such as Data Analysis Expressions (DAX).
