Project Management Training Overview

Accelebrate's Project Management Processes training teaches new project managers (or anyone!) how to manage projects and covers the basics of project management in alignment with the Project Management Institute’s PMBOK Guide.

Note: This course can also be taught specifically from an information systems point of view.

Project Management Training Objectives

All students will be able to:

  • Understand the five PMI project management process
  • Create a project plan including goal, objectives, scope and deliverables
  • Break a project down into a series of phases, activities, and tasks (WBS)
  • Determine the inter-task dependencies in the project
  • Determine the dependency types for each dependency (FS, SS, or FF)
  • Estimate tasks using work hours or elapsed time as required
  • Estimate a project completion date
  • Determine project milestones and deliverables
  • Determine project resource, overhead, and fixed costs
  • Create and use a Gantt chart of the project
  • Create and use a network diagram of the project

Training Materials:

All Project Management students receive comprehensive courseware.

Software Requirements:

No software is required. Students should be seated in pods of 3 or 4, with a notebook and pen for each student. Each pod should have a flipchart with multiple colors of markers. The instructor will require connectivity for her/his laptop to a projection system and Internet.
