UX Research and Design Training Overview

This User Experience (UX) Research and Design training teaches attendees how to build an intuitive user experience across all digital channels through personas, journey maps, user stories, sketches, wireframes, paper, interactive, and high-fidelity prototypes. In addition, students are introduced to software available to conduct user feedback and how to evaluate those findings.

Objectives

  • Understand the fundamental principles of UX and User-Centered Design
  • Be familiar with the responsibilities of a variety of roles, including User Researcher, User Experience Designer, and Interaction Designer
  • Reproduce the process of gathering user feedback
  • Know the difference between qualitative and quantitative analysis, and when and why to use each
  • Have a basic understanding of at least four tools used for User Experience Design
  • Learn how to conduct usability tests
  • Understand the complexity of designing for multiple digital endpoints and the principles of responsive/adaptive design
  • Understand the purpose of a component-based, technology-agnostic design system and the steps needed to successfully implement one

Prerequisites

Participants should either already be practicing Interaction Designers or have held a design, engineering, product, or marketing-related role, e.g., Graphic Designer, Product Manager, Marketing Coordinator, or Front-end Engineer.

No specific software experience is necessary.
